Roey the Northern Horse Whisperer
My business provides veterinary care for horses in Israel’s north. As an IDF officer with over 420 days of service since the war began, I need this loan to purchase a mobile X-ray machine for field diagnostics.
My story
I’m Dr. Roey an equine veterinarian living in Kibbutz Masada in the Jordan Valley. After completing my veterinary studies in Italy I chose to return to Israel and establish my home and business in the north driven by a belief in strengthening settlement and agriculture in the periphery. Since October 7th 2023 I have served as a reserve officer for over 420 days yet I chose to maintain my business to support the northern community as much as possible. My work is far more than a profession it is a daily mission of traveling between remote ranches farms and therapeutic riding centers in the Golan Galilee and the Valleys to provide advanced medical care where access to veterinary services is otherwise limited.
Micro lending, Macro Impact
This loan is designated for purchasing a new mobile X-ray machine to replace a damaged unit serving as a critical tool for diagnosing fractures and injuries in the field. For a field vet a mobile X-ray is often the difference between saving a horse and being unable to provide proper care. This investment will allow me to improve treatment quality expand my services and strengthen the business's economic resilience following my extensive reserve duty while continuing to support the agriculture and therapeutic farms that form the community backbone of the north.
My business - My spark
The unique value of my business is the professional medical service delivered directly to the field eliminating the need to transport horses to distant clinics in central Israel. I combine extensive clinical experience with a deep understanding of the needs of local ranchers farmers and therapeutic facilities. My reliability and high availability even under the challenges of war have built a loyal client base founded on personal trust and an uncompromising commitment to equine health and the resilience of the northern agricultural community.
A few more words
My dream is to grow my business into a leading professional center for equine medicine in the north combining advanced medicine with values of love for the land and support for the periphery. I aspire to continue living and working in the Jordan Valley raising my family here and ensuring that every horse and owner in the north has access to high-quality medical care close to home.
