My story

My name is Tamar, I live in Herzliya and I am a proud single mother of two amazing children. I started my professional journey in 2015 as a small braiding stand at the Herzliya Marina, and since 2020, I have operated a store within a nearby mall. As a woman of Ethiopian heritage, this business is much more than a source of income for me; it is a symbol of financial independence, self-confidence, and pride in who I am. I have always believed in hard work and striving for excellence regardless of one’s starting point in life, and that is how I raised my children who now contribute to the country in ways that make me immensely proud. I established this business to earn a living with dignity and to provide the best possible life for my children, and it gives me daily satisfaction and a true connection to people.

This loan will help me find new ways to ensure the stability of the business during this complex period where tourism has stopped and mall traffic has decreased. These funds will also help support the creation of a professional website to allow for online product orders alongside investment in advertising and marketing to expose the business to new audiences. My goal is to make the business stable and strong so that it is not directly affected by the security situation in the country. My business - My spark

The uniqueness of my business lies in the empowering and emotional experience I provide to every girl and woman who walks through my doors. Beyond professional braiding with colorful extensions, the store offers a wide range of handmade crafts, hamsas, and seasonal jewelry for teenagers. Many young clients arrive with slight hesitation, but after a short acquaintance, they leave with a huge smile and a sense of confidence. Most of my clients are returning customers whom I know personally, and it is very important to me that the work environment remains inclusive and welcoming. My love for the craft and the personal connection with the community are what make the shop a special place where everyone feels they belong and are at ease.
